Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU)
Netaji Subhas Open University is a premier state open university, popularly known as NSOU. NSOU was established on 25th November 1997 by Bifurcated Netaji Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS) and the Act of West Bengal State Legislative Assembly.
NSOU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an “A” grade. Its aim is to propagate quality education in a flexible way to all over the state and collaborate with other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for academic and research purposes.
They implement the set-up necessary for functioning the Open University. Netaji Subhas Open University started functioning 31 Study Centres with a Bachelor Degree Programme (BDP) in Arts & Commerce.
In the January 1999 semester, 5 study centres were opened with Arts & Commerce Courses under the BDP and the university started the Bachelor Degree Program in Science subjects from January 2000 year.
NSOU offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, PG Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs through distance mode.
